As resilient and allusive as the spy who drives it, “The Q” is available once more to accomplish its next mission.
Having faced a hailstorm of helicopter fire in the line of duty to save M, the DB appeared destroyed, a burnt-out shell lost to both MI6 and its agent.
Fortunately, the story does not end there…
Unable to face seeing 50 years of iconic service and history go up in flames, Q took what was left of the car, determined to restore it to its original glory, loaded with working weaponry and all the gadgets a 00 could need.
Following years of speculation as to its whereabouts, with reports ranging from mysterious Middle Eastern ownership to it having simply vanished without a trace, Q’s painstakingly restored project resurrected 7 years later, to serve the agent whose codename shares that number.
Once again, this unmistakable classic car was free to race around the streets, its sleek profile concealing an arsenal of guns, tyre-slicers and defence mechanisms designed to ensure a speedy getaway. History had not just been recreated, it had been restructured and reborn.
The DBs time is not up, with much of its story left to be told and its future yet to be written. Thanks to Q’s labour and expertise, it is available for all to enjoy, across all parts of the world.
As the tale moves on from one hero to another, it remains unknown as to who will be next behind this famous wheel.
